Job Description : Performs work assigned, including protecting, preventing, enforcing, call responding, pursuing, investigating, arresting, reporting, testifying in court, and relating to community policing responsibilities in preserving the peace and promoting the safety of citizens throughout the City of New Brighton. Performs related work as apparent or assigned. The City shall offer a hiring bonus of $5,000.00 to qualified lateral officers that are hired into the position of Police Officer for the City. This bonus will be paid in two installments : a) the first $2,500.00 will be paid on the first paycheck following the officer's hire, b) a second $2,500.00 will be paid the first paycheck following successful completion of the new hire's probationary period.
