Summary :
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursingcare for the comfort and well-being of patients. The RegisteredNurse (RN) prepares equipment and assists physician duringexaminations and treatments.
The Registered Nurse (RN) administersprescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, andmonitors patient vital signs.
The Registered Nurse (RN) observesand maintains records on patient care, condition, reaction, andprogress.
The Registered Nurse (RN) participatesas primary nurse, associate nurse, a team member or team leader inthe planning and implementing of patient care.
The Registered Nurse(RN) directs and assists in carrying out safe aseptic technique andprocedures. The Registered Nurse (RN) offers leadership anddirection to all support staff within department.
CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-Shorelineoverlooking Corpus Christi Bay is the largest and foremost acutecare medical facility in the region, with a full range ofdiagnostic and surgical specialty services in cardiac, cancer andstroke care.
It is the leading emergency facility in the area andthe only Level II Trauma Center in the Coastal Bend, staffed withphysicians and nurses specially trained in emergencyservices.

Requirements :
- Associate's Degree inNursing
- One year experience in nursingpreferred.
- Current Texas State RNLicense or Compact RN License
- BLS(American Heart Association)
- ACLS required attime of hire for experienced RNs. New graduate nurses must obtainACLS by the end of the clinical orientationperiod.
- NIHSS required within 90 days ofhire / transfer date
- De-escalation trainingrequired within 90 days of hire / transferdate
- TNCC required within 6 weeks of hire forexperienced RNs. New graduate nurses must obtain TNCC within 18months of hire / transfer date.
- PALS required attime of hire for experienced RNs. New graduate nurses must obtainPALS by the end of the clinical orientationperiod.
