2-3 sentences describing job purpose) : Primary instructor for all Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) cadets in the District’s high schools.
Instructs, evaluates, mentors, guides JROTC cadets using the Cadet Command program of instruction and supplemental material in accordance with lesson plans, training schedules, the academic and physical needs of the cadets, and SAI consent and guidance.

Clearly conveys course material to cadets. Grades cadets’ work and provides academic feedback. Provides a safe and efficient learning environment.

Pursues continuing education to maintain knowledge of relevant Army JROTC curriculum.
Job Duty / Resp. 5 :
Challenges, motivates, and influences the students of JROTC to develop positive character attributes.
Job Duty / Resp. 6 :
Coaches, trains and leads the color guard team, drill team, rifle team, and / or adventure team which adheres to applicable military standards.
Job Duty / Resp. 7 :
Assists and advises SAI in administrative matters, i.e. logistics, budgets, and program expenditures. Maintains cadet rosters and cadet electronic personnel records.
Job Duty / Resp. 8 :
Adheres to local, state, and federal laws and regulations, as well as the District’s policies and procedures.
Education and Experience Requirements
Education (training / degree) : Required minimum : Associate’s degree required Preferred : Meets current and future education standards required by US Army Cadet Command.
Experience Requirements : Minimum of 20 yrs. experience US Army required. Highly competitive applicants will be honorably retired senior non-commissioned officers (E8 / E9) with documented drill sergeant, Army instructor, combat arms, and large-unit leadership experience.
Licenses, Certifications or Registrations Required : Federal certification as a Junior ROTC instructor. Honorably retired from US Army, E-8 or above, within last three years.
TN JROTC teacher certification may be obtained after hire.

Kronos Set Up Data :
Meal Deduction Most Bransford office and district level employee have a meal deduction. They are scheduled 8.5 hours per day and get an hour lunch.
Itinerants and retirees get a 30 minute lunch period and therefore do not have a meal deduction. All school based employees will not have a meal deduction. No Meal Deduction
Travel Itinerant non-exempt employees who travel will be using the time clock differently than others and are paid for travel time between work locations.

Level 4 : Requires light to medium work involving standing or walking most of the time, (exerting up to 20 pounds of force on a regular basis.
Must meet all US Army Cadet Command physical requirements. Must be able to lead by example in physical training, drill and ceremonies, as well as weekend adventure trips.
