Fire Alarm Technician Job Summary

Dynalectric DC is looking for a Fire Alarm Technician to install and update fire alarm systems in commercial and residential buildings.

You will perform inspections, test alarms, and troubleshoot or document any issues. You will also respond to emergency service calls and ensure the systems are functioning properly.

Applicants for this position should have their level I, II, or III NICET certification, which requires prior experience.

You should also be knowledgeable about NFPA standards, including NFPA and .

Fire Alarm Technician Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install or upgrade fire alarms in commercial and residential buildings
  • Test and repair alarm systems already in place
  • Perform inspections to ensure alarms are installed according to code
  • Complete detailed inspection reports, documenting any issues
  • Respond to emergency service calls
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace

Fire Alarm Technician Requirements and Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • NICET certification preferred (requires prior experience or training)
  • Knowledge of NFPA standards a plus (including and )
  • Experience with commercial and residential systems
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work on ladders and lift up to lbs.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

This position is performed inside and outside which may include adverse weather conditions
