About The Position
- Job Title : Radiologic Technologist Job Specialty : Diagnostic Radiology General Procedures Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 3rd shift, with some rotation on 1st and 2nd shifts;
- includes rotation on weekends Guaranteed Hours : 32 hours per week, 4 days a week Experience : 1 year of current clinical experience in diagnostic radiology preferred;
clinical student experience may be considered License : Current State license as a Radiographer Certifications : - ARRT registered RT (R) in diagnostic radiology - American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent (required within 90 days of hire) Must-Have : - Post high school completion of an ARRT accredited Radiologic Technology program - Self-motivated with the ability to organize and prioritize - Ability to remain flexible and reorganize priorities when emergencies arise - Proficiency in EPIC system Job Description : Prepare patients and perform radiographic procedures under the guidance of a radiologist or other providers.
- Operate imaging equipment and perform diagnostic studies following specific guidelines and protocols.- Utilize appropriate radiation protection measures at all times.
- Ensure positive and effective interaction and communication with patients, visitors, and staff.- Complete radiologic / fluoroscopic procedures accurately and with minimal discomfort to patients.
- Obtain and document patient medical history; explain and assist patients throughout exams.- Ensure patient radiation protection in accordance with ALARA and prescribed safety standards.
- Ensure technical accuracy and quality of images with minimal repeats.- Appropriately position patients and select technical factors for optimal images.
- Verify correct image identification and ensure proper annotation.- Work collaboratively with other staff to ensure efficient scheduling and throughput of exams.
- Assist in patient transport as needed.- Communicate with radiologists and other providers for exam guidance and protocol clarification.
- Approve and archive images to PACS and perform reconciliations accurately and timely.- Document fluoro time and estimated skin exposure for fluoro studies.
- Follow EPIC workflow from order entry / verification to the conclusion, including documentation and supply charges.- Exhibit flexibility in scheduling and support departmental needs, including weekends, on-call, and holiday rotations.
- Provide positive teaching and mentoring environment for staff and students.- Assist in onboarding new employees and report any equipment malfunctions.
- Routinely assist in exam room preparation, stocking supplies, and maintaining cleanliness in work areas. Note : An additional 1-2 years of college / university coursework or an undergraduate degree in a healthcare-related field is preferred but not required.
