Job Description

If you have an understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and experience implementing improvement projects and methodologies, the Utah Department of Corrections (UDC) wants you! The executive management team of UDC is seeking an energetic and motivated Administrative Operations and Quality Manager to join their team.

Principal Duties

As the Administrative Operations and Quality Manager for the UDC, you will :

• identify process improvement opportunities and design improvement plans.
• manage the schedule and execution of agency improvement initiatives.
• establish performance standards.
• work with agency and executive leadership to establish and evaluate performance standards.
• train agency management and their staff in operational improvement methodologies.
• oversee the preparation and development of training materials.
• ensure projects are completed within established deadlines.
• review and support agency progress with implementation plans created as a result of improvement projects.
• assist in providing solutions to constraints on agency resources.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for this position has :

extensive knowledge of operational improvement methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Statistical Process Controls, Theory of Constraints, Results Based Accountability, etc.

including certifications in one or more.

• practical implementation experience using one or more operational improvement methodology, especially in a government setting.
• strong analytical skills and process focus.
• excellent interpersonal skills.
• the ability to communicate information and ideas clearly in writing and verbally.
