One of a Kind Hospitality, a growing restaurant group in Logan Square, is looking to add someone to the management team at one of our restaurants.
The Walk In is a Chicago cocktail lounge and bar in Logan Square that is connected to Red Star Liquor store by way of a walk-in cooler door.
With a nod to the 60’s and 70’s gritty funk, soul, & Rock N’ Roll, it’s impossible for you not to tap your foot while sipping your cocktail.
Housed in a vintage building over a 100 years old, this cozy watering hole pours beer and cocktails in a modern-industrial lounge setting with booths and drink rails, vintage speakers and rolling garage doors that open to a seasonal patio.
Responsibilities :
- 3 to 5 years of craft cocktail bartending experience with at least 2-year bar management experience
- Have extensive spirits, beer, wine and craft cocktail knowledge.
- Experience with creating cocktails using seasonal ingredients
- Administrative duties including P&L, ordering, inventory, cost of goods, liquor cost and labor cost
- Hiring and training staff, scheduling
- Conducts weekly management meetings with the owner and marketing team
- Directs montly inventory activities to ensure accurancy and adherence to deadlines
- Oversees property and equipment maintance, promotional events and activities, in coordination with the Director of Marketing
- Accountability and timeliness with a positive, confident attitude
- Lead by example, attention to detail and willingness to assist in service
- Learn the names and personally recognize our regulars, while actively developing your own
- Learn the POS system accurately
- Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas
Other Functions :
- Be available to fill in floor positions as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the bar
- Complying with health and food safety standards
- Operating the cash register, answering the phone, providing great customer service, and following the One Of A Kind Hospitality Group policies & procedures
Physical Functions :
- Ability to stand / walk a minimum of 8 hours or as needed
- Must be able to exert well-paced and frequent mobility for periods of up to 8 hours or as needed
- Be able to lift up to 30 pounds frequently
- Will frequently reach, feel, bend, stoop, carry, finely manipulate and key in data
- Work in both warm and cool environments
- High levels of noise from music, guests and employee traffic
Qualifications, Education and Behavior
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Ability to work quickly and assess situations
- Personally adhere to and guarantee staff adheres to safety and health standards of the industry
- Ability to work evening hours, weekends and holidays
- Ability to work at least 50 hours a week
