Role description :
In this role, you will work alongside senior-level engineers and project managers to grow your expertise and technical knowledge of wastewater conveyance / treatment design & construction engineering.
You will be a critical member of our team and be expected to support the proven reputation of excellence in Client Management / Development along with executing and managing projects.
Role accountabilities :
This role supports projects and clients in the planning, preliminary and final design, and construction of wastewater treatment plants, collection systems, and pump / lift stations as well as creating construction documents, specifications, and providing engineering services during construction.
Additional duties include :
- Lead preparation of detailed engineering calculations & analysis
- Complete design tasks within budget and on schedule
- Prepare scopes of work, cost estimates and other project documentation
- Support the work of others and mentor junior-level engineers & design / drafting technical staff
- Work directly, when assigned, with clients to determine needs and provide solutions
- Ensure project compliance with all Arcadis practices and quality and safety standards
- Travel (up to 25%) for client meetings, project site visits, etc.
Qualifications & Experience :
- Bachelors Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field
- Minimum of 7 years of related industry experience in the wastewater field
Key Skills and Attributes :
- Strong leadership skills; including experience managing project delivery, prioritization of tasks, coordination with design disciplines, along with managing project budget and schedule
- Project experience including design and construction of municipal wastewater treatment facilities; focused on expansion, rehabilitation, and retrofit
- Flexible to work with a variety of project teams locally and across remote offices
- Experience in development of project drawings, technical specifications, project schedules and cost estimates
- Experience or desire for client facing role with skills to include preparation and development of proposals, managing client expectations and overall relationship.
Preferred Qualifications
- PE License in Connecticut and / or in other nearby states
- 10 years of progressively responsible experience
- Active participation in regional (local / state) and / or national professional association
