Position / Title : Receiving Inspector I-III

Location : Rohnert Park, CA

General Job Description

The Receiving Inspector performs routine to advanced mechanical / electrical inspections using microscope, micrometers, calipers, VCMM, optical comparator, and other inspection equipment.

The inspector supports the company’s ISO 9001 : 2015 Quality Management System (QMS), by following internal procedures, documenting results, and identifying continuous improvement opportunities and potential solutions to help make improvements to department operations.

Education / Knowledge :

High school diploma.

Working knowledge of Engineering Document Control for manufacturing environment

Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel

Skills / Aptitudes

Must be able to read and write in English.

Organizational skills, good oral and written communication skills in English.

Ability to produce legible documented records in support of company’s QMS.

Ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels of the organization.

Receiving Inspector I (Clerk)

Identifies non-conforming material and prepares NCR’s (Non-Conformance Reports), in accordance with established procedures

The RI requires a working knowledge of inspection techniques and tooling (calipers, micrometers, etc)

Working knowledge and experience with computer applications (Microsoft Word, Excel and Access) and email to support appropriate communication

Basic understanding of specification and mechanical drawings

Requires a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in mechanical / electrical inspections

Receiving Inspector II

All the requirements of Inspector I

Working knowledge and use of VCMM, Optical Comparator, and other electronic measuring equipment

Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings

Requires a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical / electrical inspections

Previous experience working in an ISO 9001 : 2015 Quality Management System environments is preferred

Ability to support other Quality System functions (Calibration, Internal Audits)

IPC-610 Certification is desired

Receiving Inspector III

All the requirements of Inspector II

Support or lead the part qualification and / or first article inspections and recording of data.

Comprehension of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

Requires a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in mechanical / electrical inspections

Experience with programming VCMM (MicroVu) and CMM (Zeiss) preferred

Previous experience working in an ISO 9001 : 2015 Quality Management System environments required

Ability to support Quality System process improvements

The compensation range for this position is $50,000.00 - $75,000.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
