Linux System Analyst - HPCS Computer Systems Analyst,Senior

Responsibilities

• Conduct root-cause analysis of service interruptions and set up preventive measures.
• Monitor user workloads to determine best practice remediations of deficiencies or inefficiencies.
• Create, update, and support documentation of guidelines, procedures, standards, and controls.
• Perform system administration tasks such as managing user / group, security permissions, and policies.
• Monitor system health using existing management tools and respond to hardware issues as they arise.
• Architect, implement, and maintain solutions that meet customer needs

Required Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship with active DoD Top Secret Clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information Access (TS / / SCI) and Counterintelligence (CI) Scope Polygraph within 180 days of hire.
• Certified at DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II (CompTIA Security+ CE, ISC2 SSCP, or equivalent).
• Bachelor's degree in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) field.
• Must have at least five (5) years total experience in each of the following areas (experience can be on a concurrent basis i.

e., does not mean analyst has to have 40 years of total experience) :

• directly configuring and administering a large (greater than 500 nodes) Linux operating system based high performance computing cluster.
• directly configuring and administering computers and operating systems;
• directly configuring and administering Cisco Networking equipment in a high-performance computing cluster;
• directly configuring and administering TORQUE / Moab (batch scheduler software) in a high-performance computing environment using multiple queues;
• writing scripts in Perl, Python, and Bourne shell scripting languages that directly support administration of high-performance computing clusters;
• directly configuring and administering NetApp Storage devices running Data OnTap;
• successfully installing and configuring both the MPICH and Open MPI implementation of the Message Passing Interface (MPI) software infrastructure in a Linux operating system based high performance computing cluster;
• utilizing both the FORTRAN and C programming languages and have experience installing and configuring compilers and successfully compiling code written in these two languages.
• Hardware troubleshooting (Power, Mainboard, CPUs, PCIe, RAM, Local Storage, Network).
• Linux workstation and / or server operating system administration (RHEL 8 / 9, Rocky 8 / 9, CentOS 7 / 8).
• Operating Environment Certification (Linux Professional Institute (LPI) LPIC-1, LPI LPIC-2, CompTIA Linux+, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), or equivalent Linux certification).
• Containerized workload management (Apptainer, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Podman, Pyrix, Enroot).
• Data center virtualization (VMware Horizon, vCenter, ESXi, Hyper-V, Nutanix, AppVol, Grid, KVM, Qemu, RHEV).
• Enterprise and data center storage management (DDN, NetApp, Quantum, Spectra Logic, NAS, SAN, GPFS, NFS, CIFS, Lustre).
• HPC Scheduling (Slurm, Torque, PBS, MOAB, Kubernetes, LSF).
• Network administration and management (InfiniBand, Ethernet, RDMA, RoCE, Virtualized, Cisco, Cisco ACI, Nvidia, Mellanox, TCP / IP, Route / Switch, VLANS, VXLAN).
• Network protocols, services, and infrastructure (DNS, DHCP, FTP, TFTP, NTP, SNMP, NFS, SMB / CIFS, LDAP).
• Programming / scripting in high-level languages (C, C++, Perl, Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Patch and security management and orchestrations (SCCM, Ansible, Spack, Puppet).
