Job Summary
This opportunity will fill the need during the first shift, generally 6 : 30am 3pm, M-F. Under general supervision and with detailed instructions the individual will machine, repair and / or modify metal parts, set up and operate metalworking machines, compare finished work to specifications, measure, mark or scribe metal stock, and perform related work as required.
Responsibilities and Duties may include :
- Plan job and prepare materials
- Perform benchwork and layout activities
- Milling set-up, operations and processes
- Turning set-up, operations and processes
- Inspect parts for quality and compliance
- Grind parts, components, and surfa ces
- Troubleshoot equipment, process, and parts
- Document all worked operations in the ERP system in an accurate and timely manner to meet job time standards
- Complete housekeeping and preventative maintenance and cleaning tasks as needed
Qualifications and Skills
- 5+ years of machine shop experience with at least 3 years of experience as a CNC Setup Machinist
- Strong communication skills to understand verbal and written instructions, communicate with other employees, follow directions and tasks lists,
- Advanced math skills- college level geometry, and trigonometry
- Advanced measurement skills, ability to measure, use measuring equipment and record data with great accuracy
- Ability to read, interpret technical drawings and standards, including GD&T requirements, and document QC standards as part of the operation
- Knowledge of tooling capabilities
- Ability to quickly react to non-conforming operations as they occur
- Ability to produce parts within tolerances

This position will be responsible for programming complicated engineering using Master-CAM for 3, 4 & 5th-axis mills.

We hold high standards of cleanliness in our air-conditioned machine shop. We use 3, 4 and 5 axis mills (HAAS) for majority of our machining.

Essential Functions
- Assist in the development of programming procedures and manufacturing practices.
- Create CNC Program using MasterCam X9 (or above) and Fusion 360.
- Modify CNC programs based on data from quality and / or other sources
- Support internal customers / departments and deliver an estimate of completion and tooling requirements for all projects.
- Assist with equipment operation, maintenance, and cutters / tooling procurement.
- Assist with physical dimension verification using on machine tool and support inspection of parts to ensure quality and accuracy
- Performs first article machine set-ups
- Utilizes properly calibrated precision measuring instruments such as calipers, depth gages, thread gages, pin gages, and other measuring tools.
- Trains other employees in basic and complex machine operator techniques
- Transitions project to machine operators and trains for highest efficiency and output
- Performs operator maintenance & operational checks on all departmental tools & equipment.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement initiatives and process changes
- Be highly visible to associates and promote hands-on, high involvement approaches to problem solving.
Education, Experience, and Skills
- 7+ years of experience as a machinist
- 5+ years Master-CAM programming experience
- Experience programming 3,4 and 5 axis mills
- Must have strong English communication skills
- Advanced measurement skills
- Ability to read, interpret technical drawings and standards
- Ability to interpret, and document QC standards as part of the operation
- Knowledge of tooling capabilities
- Ability to quickly react to non-conforming operations as they occur
- Ability to produce parts within tight tolerances
- Former or active secret security clearance a plus

As head of the accounting department, the controller will manage and supervise all aspects of accounting from payroll to tax compliance.
The controller will report directly to the president, and will lead the development and implementation of internal control policies, procedures, and financial planning.
