Position Summary :
The overall purpose of your position is to provide transportation and assistance to the independent and assisted living residents of JCHC communities when they travel on the agencys van.
Qualifications :
To perform this job successfully, the following education, training, certification, language skills, mathematical skills, computer skills and / or experience is required :
- Ability to read and write in English.
- CDL (commercial drivers license) for a 16 or more passenger vehicle.
- A High School diploma.
- Ability to safely transport residents to the supermarket, shopping mall and other scheduled trips.
- Ability to provide residents assistance with their packages after a shopping trip.
- Ability to operate the wheelchair lift within the van.
- Be able to offer aid to the residents as they get on and off of the van.
- Responsible for van maintenance.
Reasoning Ability :
Based upon the Mission, Vision and Values of The Jewish Community Housing Corporation, the following abilities are required to successfully accomplish the essential duties of this position :
- Possess the ability to make independent decisions as needed.
- Assessment skills to evaluate maintenance needs of the van and recognize when those needs change and recommend adjustment of the program accordingly.
- Ability to recognize an emergency situation either in or out of the facility and be able to call for the assistance required.
