DESCRIPTION : Quality Technician

Quality Technician

Phoenix, Arizona Performs a variety of operations to assist quality control judgments for in-process production, finished products and incoming raw materials under supervision of Quality Assurance Laboratory Supervisor.

This position requests 3 years of experience in a manufacturing facility.

Essential Functions

• Keeps current with the production schedule in theLab
• ClosesoutbatchesfromtheQCLabthroughSAPcomputersystem,andupdatesPass / Failstatus
• Releasesorcorrectsincominglotsfromproductioninatimelymanner
• Maintains and updates product folders within the QCLab
• Processes color corrections and assists QA Techs asnecessary
• Buildssamples,includingmixingthem,whenneededtoassistinColorMatching
• Works on special projects assign bysupervisor
• Maintains and calibrates laboratory equipment per establishedprocedures
• Provides expertise and direction to QA Techs for effective execution of processes andprocedures
• Keeps in communication with sales on needed Colormatches
• Enters tars and processes TARS with customer due date inmind
• Runs samples as needed byCustomers
• Completes and maintains all required system inputs / transactions. Responsible for data integrity.
• Documents work completed as required including logs, data reports, procedures, etc.
• Participates in training, retraining and continual improvement processes and methods.
• Follows and complies with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintains departmental housekeeping standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• 3-5 years related experience and or / training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Prior experience with color adjustments, formulating, sample generation and / or color knowledge is preferred
• Prior experience working in Laboratory environment ispreferred
• US High School diploma, GED equivalency or relevant experience
• Adherence to health and safety regulations (i.e. constant use of protective gear)
• Flexibility in shifts is a plus

• Be able to stand / walk for 10-hour shift.
• Able to walk, see, and hear sufficiently to perform assigned tasks.
• Be able to communicate orally and in writing.
• The employee must be able to read at a level of comprehension sufficient to meet job requirements.
