The Risk Analyst will conduct mission analysis and risk assessment functions for military and civilian customers. The Analyst will support Mission Assurance Assessment Teams with stakeholder coordination, data collection, analysis, information system management, and product development.
This individual will solicit, collect, and collate critical asset data during risk management activities. The Risk Analyst will decompose civilian organization and military installation, tenant, operating forces, and Combatant Command missions to identify, verify, and assess impact caused by the degradation or loss of capabilities linked to critical assets, supporting infrastructure, and protection programs.
The Risk Analyst will develop, and present professional briefs, reports, papers, and other products aligned with contract milestone and deliverable schedules.
This position requires a subject matter expert who understands echeloned planning and capability development processes at different organizational levels and can socialize project information vertically and horizontally across stakeholder individuals and organizations.
The Risk Analyst reviews plans, policies, and directives and application of them to support identification of risk to mission within specific asset and protection program areas.
The Risk Analyst will aid mission Assurance Assessment Team Leads and Project Managers with client communication and information management requirements.
- The position requires website, document, and system research on a multitude of platforms and databases; participation in project management and team meetings;
- and execution of onsite assessment activities. The Risk Analyst will collect and analyze information in the Mission Assurance imperatives of Communications;
- Cybersecurity; Supporting Infrastructure; Antiterrorism; Risk Management; Operations Security; Emergency Management; Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and high-yield Explosives;
Continuity of Operations; Physical Security; and Law Enforcement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide input, research, and support to Mission Assurance Assessments.
- Enter, manage, and analyze data in critical asset information repositories and systems.
- Prepare and present briefs for company and customer personnel.
- Develop schedules, reports, and plans of action and milestones.
- Coordinate and respond to client tasks.
- Identify critical mission functions, tasks, and assets that enable their achievement.
- Conduct requirements analysis, document development, and plan reviews.
- Research organizational policies, procedures, directives, and initiative documents.
- Assist in development and editing of briefs and reports.
- Support the identification of organizational deficiencies through execution of asset and personnel protection vulnerability and capability-based assessments.
- Participate in conferences, working groups, meetings, and other events.
- Develop, propose, and review assessment criteria.
- Other duties as assigned.
COMPETENCIES
- Maintain a Secret clearance and be eligible for a Top-Secret clearance.
- Military background with expertise in strategic and operational level planning.

- Understanding of critical infrastructure protection programs and DoD Risk Management processes.
- Working knowledge of the Universal Joint Task Lists (UJTL), service-specific task lists, and Joint Capability Areas.

- Superb research, analytical, writing, and editing skills.
- Ability to document issues for management, and perform financial analysis, data collection, report development, brief preparation, milestone schedule development, and communication through electronic mediums.
- Highly initiative-taking and flexible, with an ability to work on multiple projects in a challenging environment.
- Possess an in-depth knowledge of concepts, best practices, and controls in the breadth of Mission Assurance areas / domains, such as governance and risk management, antiterrorism, emergency management, business continuity / disaster recovery planning, network security, application, and operations security.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
- Bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security, International Affairs, Political Science, or related field -OR- 4 years of experience in operational planning
- Military Schools (Career, Intermediate, Top Level)
- Minimum of 10-15 years of operational military experience
- Experience accessing information using government databases, e.g., iNFADS, SMADs, and GeoReadiness
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Experience using Microsoft Teams and SharePoint
Desired Certificates & Licenses :
- Antiterrorism Training Level 2
- Associate or Certified Emergency Manager
- Project Management Professional
Other Requirements :
- Security Clearance : Obtaining a DoD Secret Clearance. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for clearance level required for the job.
- Valid Passport : Possession of a current passport with a minimum of 8 months remaining until the expiration date.
- Travel Flexibility : Willingness and capability to travel, CONUS and OCONUS approximately 25% of the time.
- Telecommuting is authorized for this role.
- Work Environment Compliance : Commitment to maintaining a drug-free work environment, U.S. Citizenship, and possession of a valid state driver's license
