Accounting Senior Analyst - Houston, TX

LOCATION : Houston - Texas - USA

DEPARTMENT : ADMINISTRATION & FINANCE

The Global Trainee Program (GTP) is a fulltime position intensive two-year program that supports the development of promising recently graduated professionals with the potential to become future leaders in Tenaris.

A Global Trainee will : Build expertise, engage with colleagues around the world, and demonstrate performance while learning about TENARIS' culture and industrial heritage leaving them prepared to take the next steps in their career.

Contribute to the Accounting department while learning, training, and improving skills in that particular area in order to gain a profound understanding of processes, products, and services.

Purpose : The Accounting Analyst provides timely and accurate information on accounting records, maintaining ledger accounts and developing financial statements and reports.

Ensures that accounting records duly reflect corporate operations, makes accounting entries for consolidation purposes, records and classifies income, expense, and investment transactions, analyzes P&L and asset accounts, reconciles bank accounts, verifies appropriate allocation of expenses, and performs all related activities as required.

Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate in the emission of accurate financial statements, meticulously verifying compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal company regulations.
  • Supervise the process of gathering and organizing data essential for financial statement preparation, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Execute precise cost accounting procedures, including thorough inventory valuation, to provide insightful cost analysis and support operational efficiency.
  • Maintain ledger accounts with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial records.
  • Develop comprehensive financial statements and reports that provide timely and accurate insights into the company's financial performance.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, supporting informed decision-making across departments.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
  • Continuously evaluate accounting processes and procedures, proposing and implementing enhancements to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
  • Work closely with other departments to gather information and provide financial insights that contribute to overall business objectives.
  • Provide accounting and analytical support to the accounting department.
  • Provide reporting for profitability and cost analysis.
  • Type accurately, prepare, and maintain accounting documents and records.
  • Reconcile accounts in a timely manner.
  • Enter key data of financial transactions into the database on a daily basis.
  • Provide assistance and support to company personnel.
  • Research, track, and resolve accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
  • Function in accordance with established standards, procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Observe core processes through on-the-job training, project assignments, and training activities.
  • Analyze information and prepare different deliverables such as reports and processes. Gain deep knowledge of the processes you are exposed to.
  • Develop specific projects within the Accounting department.
  • Develop and manage a set of Key Performance Indicators to monitor and measure the area's results.
  • Maintain regular contact with other areas of the company and interact with different hierarchical levels in order to achieve the expected performance and results.
  • Comply with Tenaris policies, procedures, and management standards and ensure adherence to all laws and regulations that apply to the area of responsibility.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Master's degree, CPA, or relevant certification is a plus.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, cost accounting, and inventory management within a manufacturing or similar environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP, financial accounting standards, and internal control principles.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software; experience with financial consolidation tools a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports.
  • Expert in MS Excel; experience with SAP is a plus.
  • Aptitude for numbers and well-organized.
