About The Position

Adelphi is seeking a Psychiatrist to provide services at a facility in Woodbury, New Jersey. The psychiatrist will offer comprehensive psychiatric care to elderly and infirmed patients at a long term care facility. Job Quick Facts :

• Active NJ license
• Experience in long term care facilities preferred Responsibilities :
• Provide routine and consultative psychiatric services to residents of the long term care facility, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Notify the Facility Administrator or Director of Nursing of any changes in services affecting residents, including but not limited to changes in the Psychiatrist.
• Evaluate all new admissions with psychiatric diagnoses or on psychiatric medications.
• Conduct annual evaluations for residents diagnosed with psychiatric conditions, Alzheimer's, or dementia.
• Coordinate with the administration to arrange coverage during vacations as needed.
• Provide grief counseling for residents and staff on an as-needed basis.
• Schedule services at least once per month.
• Work towards achieving the lowest effective medication dosage, documenting attempts to titrate medications twice a year, along with reasons for not titrating when applicable.
