Senior Software Engineer - Game Developer - Hybrid Work Location

Dayton, Ohio

  • Develop core features using Pixi.JS and WebGL for hardware-accelerated, real-time interactivity.
  • Work with real-time rendering paradigms including Sprites, RenderTextures, and an Entity Component System (ECS) to maintain user responsiveness at or above 30 FPS.
  • Develop, test, enhance, debug, and implement software.
  • Collaborate with the design and project teams on product specifications.
  • Participate in peer reviews of code written by other developers.
  • Troubleshoot production problems related to software applications.
  • Assist in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages.
  • Assist in preparing estimates for implementing new system enhancements.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Pixi.JS, or other game engines such as Unity, Godot, or Bevy.
  • Exposure to real-time technologies such as WebGL, Shaders, Sprite-batching, etc.
  • 5+ years of Production Software Engineering Experience. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a similar discipline.
  • Ability to take ownership of features and stories and drive them through from discovery to release.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and clients.
  • Experience interacting with APIs (REST, SOAP, or GraphQL).
  • Experience with AWS is preferred.
  • Eligibility to establish and maintain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance.

Location

Hybrid work location possible. Located within 4 hour driving distance of Dayton, Ohio. Paid relocation available to the Dayton region.
