Minimum 1+ years special education experience required.
Pay Range : $32+ / hour (Based on Experience)
Position Type : Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)
School Schedule : 4 days per week (Teachers can work hours Monday-Thursday or spread across 5 days)
School Hours : 7 : 45 AM to 3 : 15 PM (for students)
Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) focusing on academics / pre-academics, social-emotional, and adaptive / self-help skills.
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and growth.
- Provide differentiated instruction and adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students effectively.
- Collaborate with related services staff (Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Speech-Language Pathologist) to integrate therapies into daily classroom activities.
- Assess student progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate regularly with parents / guardians about student achievements and areas for improvement.
- Utilize a variety of instructional techniques, materials, and assistive technology to enhance student learning and independence.
- Monitor and support students' social-emotional development, behavior management, and self-regulation skills.
- Incorporate adaptive equipment and modify classroom environments as needed to facilitate student participation and accessibility.
Qualifications :
- Master's degree in Special Education preferred.
- Valid state teaching certificate or credential in Special Education.
- Experience in a self-contained classroom setting with knowledge of diverse disabilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with related services professionals, colleagues, and parents / guardians.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
