Team Overview and Job Responsibilities

Job Overview : This position requires a mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled electrical / electronic equipment installation and the repair and replacement of plant equipment.

Schedule : The training schedule is Monday - Friday from 7 am - 3 pm. Once fully trained, associates will work 7 pm - 7 am on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule.

Pay : $24.79 - $40.80 / hr.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities :

• Obtain and deliver parts as needed
• Serve as fire watch during hot work
• Secure construction equipment and other needed tools for projects
• Assist with construction projects
• General housekeeping and painting
• Assist the skilled tradesmen
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors

Who are we looking for?

Required Qualifications :

• A results-driven individual who has demonstrated the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-performance manufacturing environment
• Can perform basic reading, writing, arithmetic, and computer functions
• Able to communicate and cooperate with other associates
• Understand metric and standard measuring systems
• Utilize a VOM and Megger
• Possess basic mechanical aptitude
• Use basic hand and power tools
• Safely operate forklifts / manlifts
• Able to locate and utilize lockout points for all machinery
• Operate Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PP, DataStream, MP7i)
• Possess basic understanding of MSDS

Preferred Qualifications :

• Understand technical service manuals and drawings
• Read plant PID prints
• Experience with MIG / TIG and stick welding (carbon and stainless steel)
• Industrial electrical knowledge up to 480V 3 Phase

Experience :

Manufacturing background preferred, not required.

Physical Demand :

Must be able to lift light loads and physically traverse throughout the multi-level facility. Must possess sufficient motor skills to operate and utilize a forklift.

Working Conditions :

Job includes exposure to physical hazards associated with the maintenance and operation of major production and plant service equipment and exposure to the raw materials and service-related chemicals used at Prysmian.

The job involves exposure to high-noise areas requiring the use of personal protection and exposure to potential lost time accidents due to crushing or cutting of various body parts and burns or splashes associated with exposure to hot equipment and lubricating fluids and other materials used throughout the plant.
