Job Summary :

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our team. This role will involve a balance of administrative tasks and working in the field at events.

The Sous Chef will be responsible for 50% of administrative duties, including client tastings and menu planning, and 50% of on-site support at events.

This position offers competitive compensation of up to $38 / hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Event Coordinators to plan and execute client tastings and menu presentations.
  • Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and creating customized culinary experiences for clients.
  • Manage administrative tasks such as organizing event details, updating menus, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and quality delivery of ingredients.
  • Support the culinary team during food preparation and service at events, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained.
  • Work closely with the kitchen staff to ensure efficient and smooth operations during events.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain proper sanitation standards.
  • Assist in training and mentoring culinary team members.
  • Contribute to ongoing menu development, incorporating seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with clients, vendors, and team members.

Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 3 years of culinary experience, preferably in catering or high-end dining establishments.
  • Proven expertise in menu planning, food preparation, and execution.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on providing exceptional client service.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • A passion for artisanal cuisine, utilizing locally sourced and seasonal ingredients.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Culinary degree or relevant certifications preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
