Description
CAMS' Director, BESS plays a critical role in driving the financial, commercial and operational success of CAMS' BESS business.
The position is responsible for financial management, commercial strategy development and client relationship management aimed at the success of our customers while ensuring safe and reliable operations of their BESS assets.
This position offers the opportunity to shape the commercial strategy and operations of our BESS O&M and asset management services, making a significant impact on the growth and success of the business.

This position will be based out of the Houston, TX office and will be supporting assets across the United States. Reporting to the corporate office on a hybrid schedule is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy Development :
- Lead the development of commercial strategies and pricing models for BESS O&M and asset management services.
- Identify market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging opportunities to inform strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative service offerings and value propositions that meet the evolving needs of our clients.
Client Relationship Management :
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, building and nurturing strong relationships.
- Understand clients' objectives, challenges, and expectations to tailor our services and solutions to meet their needs effectively.
- Proactively address client inquiries, concerns, and feedback to ensure high levels of satisfaction and retention.
Contract & Operations Management :
- Oversee the negotiation, drafting, and execution of contracts and agreements with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure contractual compliance and adherence to service agreements, terms, and conditions.
- Develop and implement operational processes, policies, and tools to support the operations of BESS projects.
- Manage key O&M areas including field operations management, tooling, fleet and equipment management.
Team Leadership and Development :
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship throughout the BESS organization, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Recruit, train, and develop talented professionals to support the growth and success of the business.
- Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide constructive feedback and coaching to team members.
- Improve team members skills & capabilities to support appropriate career progression.
Requirements
- 5+ years minimum BESS experience in field operations, asset management, or similar technical roles.
- Bachelor's and / or graduate degree in engineering or similar discipline.?
- Familiarity with BESS BMS, EMS, software controls and integration with Remote Operations Center.
- Experience collecting and analyzing BESS performance data and optimization practices.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective at communicating technical topics to non-technical audiences.?
- Excellent collaboration across teams to achieve goals.?
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in developing and implementing commercial strategies within the energy or related industry.
- Strong understanding of BESS O&M and asset management services.
