Catheterization Lab
Job Summary :
Join our team as a IR / CATH LAB TECHNOLOGIST in the Catheterization Lab, where you will play a crucial role in delivering specialized care to patients undergoing catheterization procedures.
As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care within the cath lab setting and more.
Responsibilities :
- IR experience is a requirement
- Perform specialized care within the Catheterization Lab
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients undergoing catheterization procedures
- Implement aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment
- Monitor vital signs and assist with diagnostic evaluations
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Utilize telemetry and sonography equipment effectively
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Provide patient education on post-procedural care and recovery
Performance of exceptional quality routine and specialized interventional radiographic procedures at the request licensed independent practitioner for interpretation by provider.
The Technologist is a liaison between patients, provider and other members of the support team. The Technologist integrates scientific knowledge;
technical skills, patient interaction and compassionate care resulting in diagnostic information, and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.
Cath Lab / Interventional Radiographers must maintain a high degree of accuracy in radiographic positioning and exposure technique.
Must possess, utilize, maintain and enhance knowledge of radiation safety and protection for self, patients and others. The Cath Lab / Interventional Radiographer prepares, administers and document activities related to mediations in accordance with state regulations and institution policy.
The Technologist must demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
- Checks room daily for adequate stock necessary to facilitate continuous exam flow. Maintains appropriate inventory as indicated by posted par levels and updates supply lists when items are needed.
- Confirms patient identity with approved identifiers.
- Demonstrating population appropriate care with all patients, appropriately prepares patients for procedures.
- Verifies patient’s pregnancy and informed consent statuses.
- Assesses factors that may contraindicate the procedure; such as, medication contraindications, patient risk for reaction to medications, patient history, laboratory results, insufficient patient preparation or artifacts.
- Based on order, determines type and dose of contrast agent to be administered based on patient’s age, weight and medical / physical status.
- Anticipates and responds to patients needs throughout the entire encounter. Reaches out to others as needed.
Experience :
- Proficiency in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Strong knowledge of diagnostic evaluation processes
- Experience in emergency medicine is a plus

Schedule :
- 8 hour shift
- On call
Experience :
- Interventional radiology : 2 years (Required)
- Cath lab : 1 year (Required)
- Pediatric radiology : 1 year (Preferred)
