Education Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree and qualify for a Professional Educator License as a teacher, counselor, or social worker preferred. Experience in education or related experience in dealing with at-risk youth.

Responsibilities :
1. Maintain a professional environment at all times.
2. Meets with school staff, students, and parents regarding academic, social emotional, and attendance related issues
3. Attend all court-related hearings in person for students on caseload.
4. Collaborate with court services and the juvenile justice center to provide appropriate interventions while students are detained.
5. Collect attendance and academic information for court cases. A court report with suggested recommendations will be submitted to the appropriate court staff.
6. Create, maintain, and file all paperwork accumulated throughout any court procedures.
7. Provide career assessments and career counseling for eligible TAOEP clients.
8. Provide transition services for eligible TAOEP clients who are released from juvenile detention.
9. Keeps a log of activities for the Program Director.
10. Meet with Community Youth Leaders for networking and referral services.
11. Correlate and track TAOEP data.
12. Research and facilitate new resources for use in the TAOEP program.
13. Provide professional development opportunities for schools, court services, and other community groups.
14. Completes reports and submits to the Assistant Regional Superintendent / Coordinator of Alternative Programs
15. Meets regularly with the Assistant Regional Superintendent / Coordinator of Alternative Programs regarding handling of specific cases and programmatic needs
16. Makes referrals to community agencies and programs or other ROE personnel for more in-depth assistance
17. Meets with school district administration for coordination of services
18. Enrolls and monitors students in online learning platform
19. Participate in community agency meetings and networks
20. Aids in the development of protocols for the grant
21. Meets requirements of the TAOEP Grant
22. Any responsibilities assigned by the Regional Superintendent or Cabinet level supervisor
