This position may work closely with the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED) which is a multi-technology office responsible for overseeing more than $27B of investment in large scale demonstrations in emerging technologies such as clean hydrogen, carbon capture, advanced nuclear reactors, grid-scale energy storage, industrial emissions reductions as well as demonstrations in rural and socioeconomically disadvantaged regions.
Job Responsibilities : + Conduct independent engineering / due diligence technical advisory reviews of the environmental systems (e.
g., pollution control technologies) of clean energy technologies and projects + Able to evaluate the expected or actual functionality and performance of pollution control and monitoring systems of project + Identify key gaps / needs as it relates to the functionality and performance of pollution control and monitoring systems of project + Identify project risks and risks mitigants of technology and project + Articulate recommendations for improvement (when necessary) + Work in teams and independently to provide engineering expertise on various pollution control and monitoring systems technologies + Draft independent engineering / due diligence reports on evaluated systems + Able to draft a data table and risk table (as part of an independent engineering / due diligence report or otherwise) + Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication - communicating succinctly and clearly + Liaise with a variety of stakeholders when providing engineering expertise (e.
g., clients, technology providers, other engineering disciplines.)
