Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

• Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration :

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education :

Diploma from an accredited school / college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required.

• Highly acute 24-beds Surgical / Medical Cardiac ICU / Cardiac Recovery
• Specializing in advanced heart failure, cardiogenic shock, STEMI, transplant, VAD’s, thoracic, vascular, ECMO patient populations
• Nursing to patient Ratio : 1 : 1 or 1 : 2
• Supported by Patient Care Technicians, resource, and multidisciplinary teams
• 1 - 2 years of Critical Care (ICU) experience preferred

Patients we serve :

• Medical Patients : STEMI, Cardiac Arrest, and Advanced Heart Failure
• Surgical Patients : Cardiac : Transplant, VAD, CABG, and Valve Repair / Replacement
• Thoracic : Pneumonectomy, Lobectomy, Esophagectomy
• Vascular : AAA repair, CEA, complex vascular repair
• Transplant : Heart, Kidney, and Pancreas

Location and shifts :

Ascension St. Vincent is located at 2001 W. 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260. We are hiring for Full-time Night shift - 7 : 00PM 7 : 30AM.

Full-time (36 hours) a week; scheduled every third weekend, and holidays minimum of two per year.
