Job Description :
We are seeking a Director of Engineering and Maintenance with 5-7 years of experience in maintenance and CPG food manufacturing, preferably in refrigerated, frozen, and fresh products.
The ideal candidate will have a background in CMMS, planning, TPM / RCM, predictive maintenance, storeroom management, and MRO.
You will lead engineering and maintenance operations for a multi-site facility, overseeing 15-25 direct reports across various disciplines.
This role focuses on plant-level operations, driving continuous improvement, and managing capital projects between $500K - $2M.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage maintenance of plant facilities, utilities, and equipment.
- Oversee work order planning, scheduling, parts storeroom management, and MRO procedures.
- Lead capital project planning, approval, design, and implementation, including packaging automation, facility improvements, and utility installations.
- Maintain technical documentation, CAD library, and capital management.
- Supervise maintenance and engineering teams to ensure operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards (USDA, FDA).
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
- 5-7 years of experience in maintenance, with expertise in CMMS, TPM / RCM, and MRO.
- 5-7 years of experience in CPG food manufacturing (preferably refrigerated, frozen, and fresh).
- 1-3 years of operations supervision.
- Proven experience managing capital projects ($500K-$2M).
- Leadership experience with maintenance and engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Bilingual (English / Spanish).
- MBA or Project Management Certification.
- Experience in meat or dairy manufacturing.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, CAD, USDA, and FDA regulations.
- Strong understanding of capital management and financial analysis of capital investments.
