Will Consdier Medical Technologist I, II or III
Position Summary :
- Performs a variety of both routine and complex clinical laboratory tests in accordance with established standards and procedures with minimal supervision.
- Level of supervision is determined by skill level and experience.
- Has a working knowledge of equipment, processing of specimens, test results and time constraints of test, in their assigned area.
If trained as generalists may be assigned to any area or combination of areas.
Has a thorough understanding of medical technology as it is related to their specific job category.
Minimum Qualifications :
Education :
Work requires formal educational background in biology, chemistry, hematology, immunohematology and microbiology normally acquired through completion of a four-year post-secondary school program in clinical laboratory technology.
Work Experience :
- Medical Technologist with more than 2 years of experience and verified / recognized certification.
- Completion of clinical rotation during final year of bachelor’s degree program or (one year) equivalent clinical lab experience or course work specific to the discipline.
- For this level, the employee must demonstrate certification accepted by the Department of Pathology, or MS degree plus more than 2 years relevant clinical laboratory experience in an approved CLIA laboratory.
Certifications :
- Certification in Medical Technology / Clinical Laboratory Science, MT, MLS, ASCP or a nationally recognized professional organization is required.
