About Our Internship Program :
Throughout your internship, you will have regular events, weekly lunch and learn sessions, and receive customized training from our business units.
This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights into supporting the needs of Stanley Black & Decker both in the US and abroad.
The interns will gain first-hand exposure to Stanley Black & Decker and have the opportunity to build a cross-functional professional network.
Interns are expected to adapt to change and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, creativity, and confidence.
Interns must be team-oriented and collaborative.
The Job :
During your internship, you will have the opportunity to support Mechanical Engineering with key activities including :
- Mechanical design : Assist in the design and development of hand tools and power tools, utilizing CAD software and engineering principles to create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings.
- Product development : Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and manufacturing, to contribute to the development and improvement of hand tools and power tools, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Prototyping and testing : Support the prototyping and testing of new product designs, analyzing performance, durability, and safety to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Design for manufacturing : Assist in optimizing product designs for efficient manufacturing processes, considering factors such as cost, materials, and production feasibility.
You will have exposure to several areas of the Mechanical Engineering at Stanley Black & Decker. You will work on a wide variety of tasks and projects with a cross-functional team of professionals, including Product Design Group, Testing, Regulatory, Quality, Product Marketing, and Manufacturing.
The Person :
The ideal Mechanical Engineering intern candidate will have the following qualifications :
- Be a rising junior or senior with a target graduation date of 2026 or 2027.
- Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering
- Maintains strong academic credentials.
- Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for 3D modeling and detailed design.
- Successfully manages strong academics alongside extracurricular activities.
