Job Description
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Accounting Assistant 1, School of Dental Medicine R0144833 .
ROLE of the POSITION
- This position serves as the dental clinic cashier. Verifies and processes all patient payments for the student dental clinics;
- verifies end of day deposits for up to 7 other cash handlers; monitors and reviews patient accounts; reviews, manages, identify and corrects discrepancies in dental coding and billing errors;
assists Clinical Business Office with refund requests and moving money between departments for accurate accounting reports.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduation from high school or equivalent and one year of clerical experience, six months of which included duties such as accounts payable and / or accounts receivable and balancing accounts;
- and using computer spreadsheet to record, track and report data; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education supplemented by successful completion of a one-semester college course in bookkeeping and six months of clerical experience;
OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

SALARY
Grade 23, Step 1, salary $39,421.44. "Step" means the number assigned by the Division of Human Resource Management to identify a specific rate of pay within a grade.
Per Nevada Administrative Code (NAC 284.170), salaries for initial appointments for classified positions typically begin at Step 1.
