About FACE

Faith and Community Empowerment (FACE) is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving as a bridge between the Asian-American community and the broader society by fostering private and public collaborations, enhancing the capacities of faith-based organizations, increasing access to resources, and supporting low-income individuals and neighborhood revitalization.

Established in 2001, FACE has built a network of over 1000 partners, including collaborations with the White House and Fortune 500 companies.

Current program examples include Stop the Hate, Homeownership, Foreclosure Prevention, Affordable Housing, Youth@Work Paid Internship, C2 Leadership Institute (Capacity Building), Lighting the Community Summit, Advocacy / Research and Clean Energy.

Mission

Our mission is to advance the participation, contribution, and influence of the Asian American community through faith and community partnerships.

Position Overview

The Director of Operations and Programs will support the CEO in ensuring the smooth operation of FACE by overseeing program management, grant acquisition and execution, and staff and office management.

This role requires adaptability, leadership, and a commitment to FACE’s mission in an ever-changing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Management (50%) : Ensure efficient and effective implementation of all FACE programs, including marketing, outreach, event organization, and reporting.
  • Grant Management (15%) : Initiate, write, and manage grants, including researching funding opportunities and executing grant-funded projects.
  • Office and Staff Management (15%) : Oversee the logistical functioning of the office, staff supervision, development, team building, and evaluations.
  • Strategic Support (10%) : Assist the CEO with strategic planning, problem-solving, and interfacing with external partners.
  • Board Support (10%) : Support board-related activities, including member selection, training, financial statement preparation, and event coordination.
  • Risk Management : Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the safety and security of all programs and operations.
  • Financial Management : Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and financial reporting in collaboration with the finance team, ensuring all programs are financially sustainable.
  • Stakeholder Engagement : Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, community partners, and governmental agencies, to support and enhance program effectiveness.
  • Compliance : Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting : Utilize data to assess program effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and report on outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement : Implement and oversee continuous improvement processes to enhance program delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Technology Integration : Oversee the integration and effective use of technology in program delivery and office operations.
  • Volunteer Management : Develop and manage a robust volunteer program to support various initiatives and events.
  • Marketing and Communications : Develop and implement marketing and communication strategies to promote FACE’s mission, programs, and events.
  • Professional Development : Encourage and facilitate professional development opportunities for staff to enhance their skills and competencies.
  • Other Duties : Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the CEO.

Qualifications

  • Education : Bachelor’s degree or higher in public or business administration, social work, or a related field.
  • Experience : 5-10 years of management experience in program development, fundraising / grant writing, event management, and / or marketing.
  • Skills :
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, Google Docs, or similar software.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in nonprofit operations and community development.
  • Knowledge of AAPI and communities of color history is desirable.
  • Housing Counseling Certification is a plus.

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings.
  • Must be able to travel for meetings, conferences, and site visits.
  • Requires frequent use of computers and the ability to review detailed documents.
  • Physical ability to lift and move up to 25-30 pounds.
  • Travel : Must be able to travel to events and community meetings. Access to reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are required.
