Job Title : Payroll Manager

Location : Seattle, WA (Onsite)

Contract : 6-Month Contract

Compensation : $45–$55 / hour (DOE)

Overview :

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager for a 6-month onsite contract in Seattle, WA. The Payroll Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of payroll processing, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency across a multi-state employee population. This role is perfect for a seasoned payroll professional who enjoys leading process improvements, maintaining compliance, and supporting a collaborative HR and Finance environment.

Responsibilities :

Manage end-to-end payroll operations for exempt and non-exempt employees across multiple states

Supervise and mentor payroll staff, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing

Review and approve payroll reports, reconciliations, and funding requests

Oversee compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws and tax regulations

Partner with HR, Accounting, and Finance teams on audits, benefits integration, and reporting

Identify and implement payroll process improvements and system enhancements

Serve as primary liaison with external vendors, tax agencies, and auditors

Support year-end activities, including W-2s, tax filings, and reconciliations

Maintain confidentiality and ensure data integrity across all payroll systems

Qualifications :

5+ years of progressive payroll experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role

Strong understanding of multi-state payroll, taxation, and compliance regulations

Experience with major payroll systems such as ADP, Paylocity, Workday, or UKG

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting / analytics

Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities

CPP certification preferred but not required
