Job Description
We have an immediate opportunity for a Director of Business Development to join our acquisition team. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Business Development and working with the Chief Development Officer and the company founders, you will be an integral part of the team that contributes to the company’s rapid growth plans.
Your goal is to find, establish relationships, and develop acquisition opportunities within the veterinary industry. You will accomplish this through direct contact with practice owners, trade shows, CE meetings, and industry relationships.
You will be responsible for developing a robust pipeline of opportunities, collecting financial information from the practice owner, participating in offer presentations, addressing questions and concerns, and ultimately securing a Letter of Intent.
Target Markets
Must live in or be willing to relocate to the market you are supporting!
Northeast - New York, Pennsylvania, Washington DC, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Hampshire
Mountain States - Idaho, Arizona, Colorado, Kansas
Central States - Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Ohio, Michigan
Qualifications
To be successful in this position, you must be a grinder! You should have an insatiable desire to find and develop new opportunities.
Applicants should have 5+ years of experience in distribution, product sales and / or capital equipment sales. Animal Health experience and extensive industry contacts are strongly preferred.
You should be comfortable with highly strategic, complex, and long sales cycles and can explain complex financial matters in a way that the average person can understand.
A BS / BA from a 4-year accredited institution is required. This position requires overnight travel and could be up to 50-70%.
