Nationwide Therapy Group is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Jacksonville, Florida. Job Description & Requirements Specialty : PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline : RN Start Date : 11 / 03 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, days Employment Type : Travel Shift : Day 3x12 Guaranteed Hours : Not specified Contract Weeks : 13 Position : Registered Nurse (RN) Short Description : The RN ensures high-quality patient care by following nursing care plans and supervising Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees. Complete Description : The RN embraces the Select Medical Way and Core Values, delivering superior care, treating others respectfully, achieving results, working collaboratively, and overcoming obstacles resourcefully. A strong focus on safety—both patient and employee—is essential, including safe patient handling, infectious disease precautions, slip / trip / fall prevention, and overall work environment awareness. Key Responsibilities : Conduct nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans. Identify patient / family teaching needs and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team. Provide timely patient information for team conferences and document all assessments, interventions, and responses accurately. Participate in rehabilitation programs, providing direct patient care using the nursing process (assess, plan, implement, evaluate). Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from day of admission. Communicate changes in patient status to care providers, seeking senior nursing consultation as needed. Provide guidance, training, and supervision to ancillary staff; delegate appropriately. Ensure personal and environmental safety according to hospital policies. Maintain communication with management regarding supplies, equipment, and training needs. Assume charge responsibility after orientation when requested. Pursue professional growth through continuing education and self-study. Prioritize tasks and staff to meet patient needs efficiently. Perform additional duties as requested.
