The Proposal Manager plays an integral role in Webcor’s robust sales and marketing engine. Your primary responsibilities will be to lead pursuits from identification through award.

This work requires close collaboration with business development leads, proposal sponsors, senior operations personnel, client managers, and the creative marketing minds on your team.

The Proposal Manager's daily work includes the assessment of RFQs and RFPs, management and preparation of proposals, presentations, and other engaging client-facing collateral.

These duties require a strong sense of brand and storytelling, plus copywriting, editing, layout / graphic design, sourcing / collecting narrative content, creative and strategic thinking, and a high level of organizational skills.

Secondary responsibilities include ongoing maintenance of the various platforms and systems that support the marketing function, and assisting on departmental requests related to graphic design, events, project photography, and more.

The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.

You will report directly to the Sr. Marketing Manager and Vice President of Marketing, and run in parallel with a broader team of marketing peers sitting in both San Francisco and Los Angeles metro regions.

NOTE : This position will be titled "Proposal Manager" or "Senior Proposal Manager." The level depends upon experience.

Expectations of the Role

  • Champion and execute the established Webcor brand consistently across deliverables.
  • Collaborate with business development leads, proposal sponsors, and internal and external project teams to manage pursuits and competing deadlines.
  • Self-motivate and demonstrate eagerness to continuously develop knowledge of the design and construction process through internal or external education.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of proposal capture strategies.
  • Lead proposal teams comprised of junior marketing coordinators, plus estimating, operations, and other technical stakeholders.
  • Develop and design proposal layouts / templates and interview presentations with organized, clear, purposeful, and visually stunning content.
  • Collaborate with marketing and technical staff to deliver proposal content on or ahead of internal deadlines.
  • Create compelling graphics and infographics.
  • Write technical and marketing content tailored to client requirements.
  • Provide CRM administration including data entry, reporting, and knowledge management.
  • Maintain marketing information and photography database.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Candidate’s Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in English, Journalism, Marketing, Business, Communication, Graphic Design, Engineering, Architecture, etc.
  • Minimum three years of experience in marketing and construction, emphasis on proposal preparation and management. Senior Proposal Manager-minimum six years' experience.
  • Minimum three experience developing compliant, compelling, and persuasive proposals. Senior Proposal Manager-minimum six years' experience.
  • Familiarity with construction management, engineering, and / or architecture concepts and language. Ability to translate complex ideas into clear and compelling proposal language.
  • AEC industry experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, etc.)
  • Ability to self-start and collaboratively problem-solve with technical, creative, and support staff.
  • Ability to maintain a proposal team's direction through leadership and guidance.
