OCONUS STRMM Fielding Network Engineer-Kuwait

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY :

Comtech Systems, Inc (CSI) is looking for SATCOM Terminal Remote Monitoring (STRMM) Fielding Network Engineer candidates who will be responsible for managing STRMM and monitor and control software related issues OCONUS.

The Network Field Service Representative will be responsible to assisting the SMC with OCONUS related trouble tickets related to the STRMM or Monitor & Control software.

The Network Field Service Representative will be well versed with basic networking, and proficient with Python programming language, Java Programming language, and knowledgeable with Windows and Linux computing environments.

In addition, the Network Field Service Representative will be familiar with modern web development (HTML5, JS, CSS, etc.

The Network Field Service Representative will also be responsible for coordinating with the STRMM Lead and STRMM Engineers for system priorities.

Candidates will be expected to work with a spirit of cooperation and must exhibit a tenacious work ethic while possessing the drive and critical thinking to excel in potentially tumultuous conditions.

• Prefer candidates with a valid US passport.
• Must have an active, current Secret Clearance.

PRIMARY DUTIES :

All candidates will perform the following duties :

• Provide experience with Global Security Systems (GSS), Access Control entry (ACE), Wireless, Riverbeds, Infoblox.
• Provide in-depth knowledge of complex LAN / WAN communications, network hardware such as Cisco routers, Ethernet switches, bridges, gateways, and firewalls.
• Provide knowledge of routing protocols such as RIP, EIGRP, BGP and OSPF.
• Provide knowledge of programing languages, Python, and Java.
• Provide strong understanding and practical experience with technologies like Multi-Schedule Private Line Service Tariffs (MPLS), Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS), MLA Virtual Private Network (VPNs) and Traffic Engineering Duties involve among others, management of local and wide area network, projects, and installation of new devices, system and on-going maintenance of infrastructure.

Provide working knowledge of all the software supporting the SMC as it is stated in the contract.

SKILLS REQUIRED :

All candidates will have the following minimum skills :

• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in IT customer support.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a military environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally with diverse audiences, internally and externally to foster strong teamwork.
• Work well independently or as a member of a team environment
• Detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

Preferred Associate’s degree in Computer Science, OR ten (10) total years of recent specialized experience.

• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Experience in maintaining certifications related to the requirement of the position.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

All candidates will have the following required certification(s) :

• CompTIA A+
• CompTIA Security+
• CompTIA Network+, or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
