Key Responsibilities
- You are a trusted advisor to managers within your client group, which may include one or more of our international hub offices, providing guidance and coaching on workforce planning, change management, organizational development, compensation planning and coaching a highly engaged, high performance team.
- Acts as first point of contact for HR related queries for managers and employees in designated client business units. Provides guidance and support on recruitment, employee relations, and performance management ensuring alignment with common human resources strategies and processes.
- Supports the Human Resources team in the implementation of strategic Human Resources plans, HR systems and best practice policies and procedures.
- Collaborates with Talent Acquisition team and is a trusted partner to the business leader, supporting recruiting for professional and clinical development roles within designated client group.
- Partners with the Benefits and Compensation teams to manage benefit and incentive compensation programs.
- Identifies opportunities for process improvements within the company’s HR operations, and participates in initiatives to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, and value-adding capacity of the HR group.
- Ensures compliance with legal and legislative requirements across all geographies within the designated client group and adherence to human resources policies and procedures.
- Actively works to foster an environment of effective and collaborative working relationships amongst employees, management and external partners.
- Ability to support various HR projects as appropriate
Education and Experience
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
- Successful completion of professional designation(s) in Human Resources is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience as an HR Business Partner in a biotech, pharma, technology or other high growth, professional or scientific environment required
- Well-developed competencies in core HR functional areas : compensation, organizational structure and design, performance management, employment law, leadership development and employee relations.
- Deeply knowledgeable of California employment law and standards; a working knowledge and demonstrated practice of employment standards and law in one of our other global markets (Canada, Ireland, Singapore) required.

- Extensive experience in business and human resources, ability to understand core business functions, how business units interact, combined with a cultural awareness and sensitivity.

- Highly developed leadership and problem solving skills, the confidence and ability to act on initiatives and successfully execute.

- Ability to exercise professionalism, sound judgement and discretion when handling issues of a difficult sensitive or confidential nature.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding departmental and personnel matters.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- A proven ability to negotiate effectively.
- Strong oral, written and listening skills
- Our HRIS is SAP SuccessFactors, experience in this or another large, auditable HRIS system strongly preferred.
