POSITION SUMMARY :
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is responsible for : conducting Psychiatric Evaluations, providing treatment recommendations, ordering appropriate lab-work, providing pharmacological management as clinically appropriate, collaborating with the supervising psychiatrist and members of the Treatment Team, utilizing established best practice protocols, consulting with Primary Therapists, clinical staff, psychiatric nursing staff, families and significant others
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE :
- Possess all appropriate coursework and credentials requirements for the designation of Nurse Practitioner
- Initial TB test required prior to first day of employment
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances are warranted.
- This position has regular and substantial unsupervised and unrestricted physical contact with individuals receiving services and is required by law to be fingerprinted for a backgroundl history record check under OPWDD (Office for People with Developmental Disabilities) or OMH (Office of Mental Health).
