What We Offer

The primary responsibility of this role is to provide I&E (instrumentation and electrical) / PCT (process control technology) engineering services for the preparation and execution of I&E / PCT portions of projects for chemical manufacturing facilities.

Major Responsibilities

• Contribute to instrumentation and electrical (I&E) and process control technology (PCT) engineering and services for the preparation and execution of I&E and PCT portions of projects for chemical manufacturing facilities;
• Lead small project PCT teams;
• Preparation of estimates, scopes, specifications, design and other deliverables;
• Evaluate all PCT aspects of engineering to ensure all project objectives including safety, technical correctness, budget, constructability, schedule, maintainability and operability are met;
• Interface with other engineering disciplines or departments, customers and vendors or suppliers to ensure successful development and execution of projects;
• Modify existing or create new I&E or PCT procedures, standards and practices to stay current with technology and implement improved methods;
• Produce, review and approve I&E and PCT specifications, drawings and other documentation, assist in compiling construction packages.

What You Offer

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Chemical or related degree with a strong interest in process control systems;
• The eligibility to apply for and obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) within a reasonable timeframe.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience at chemical facilities in I&E or PCT design and engineering.

Knowledge & Skills :

• Knowledge of field instrumentation and low / medium voltage electrical systems used in industrial processes;
• Strong computer hardware and software skills;
• Knowledge of safety systems;
• Knowledge of relevant national international standards in process control, low voltage electrical and instrumentation;
• Systematic approach to problem definition and solution development;
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to deal with various engineering, maintenance, and operations and suppliers of PCT material and services;
• Excellent verbal and written skills to communicate with and obtain cooperation from team members involved with engineering, design, check out, commissioning and startup.
