The Regional Sales Manager Midwest (RSM) has the overall responsibility for managing the wholesale (trade) sales activities and channels of sale of plumbing, pump & well products within an assigned region.
This role reports directly to the Vice President, Sales & Marketing.
This position will cover the midwest.
The RSM will develop and implement initiatives to attain both company and regional strategic goals and objectives. The RSM will focus sales growth efforts through multiple markets and distribution channels.
In short, calling on wholesale distribution.
This role involves traveling to target focus areas as required to meet the annual strategic sales plans. Overnight travel expectations of 40%.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
Develop specific sales and strategic action plans for the assigned customers and products.
Develop, maintain, and manage direct personal contact and effective working relationships at all levels with key decisions and buying influences at assigned accounts.
Develop annual product forecast for assigned accounts.
Provide regular input to VP, Sales & Marketing and Sales Operations team on regional economic and competitive conditions.
Stay abreast of current and upcoming market conditions, competitive developments, and product requirements.
Assist in the resolution of technical and commercial problems with customers.
Meet or exceed annual sales forecast.
Prepare and submit activity reports and sales plans as required.
ACCOUNTABILITY :
Under functional direction of VP, Sales & Marketing.
Primary interaction with Customer Service Manager, National Account Manager(s), and Sales Operations Manager.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE :
Knowledge of building products sales distribution channels would be beneficial.
Knowledge of building materials markets, channels, and distribution. Experience within pump / well, pool / spa,irrigation, plumbing markets,hardware, and applications as well as wholesale distribution would be beneficial.
Possesses knowledge of standard pricing and price models.
Four-year business, marketing or engineering degree preferred, plus 5 years’ experience in sales, encompassing sales of plumbing products and / or related industry products.
Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of college degree.
