Who We Are :
The Low Carbon Technologies section works on decarbonization and sustainability topics for the transportation sector. Our goal is to help our clients develop and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from mobility systems.
We research, develop, simulate, and test a wide range of technologies.
Objectives of this Role :
- Lead in the execution of fuel-cell testing programs by working closely with, and mentoring, junior engineers to complete projects efficiently.
- Manage projects to achieve a successful outcome for both SwRI and our clients.
- Work with new and existing clients to identify future potential collaborative opportunities.
- Contribute to the development of better engineering processes by identifying opportunities for improvement and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities :
- Responsible for successful project execution and support engineers with test cell setup, daily test planning, test execution and data analysis.
- Support promotional activities including building relationships with new clients, maintaining existing client communication, and preparing proposals and cost estimates.
- Work to become established as an industry leader by attending conferences and participating in paper authoring, presentations, and reviews.
- Mentor and train junior level technical staff.
Requirements :
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or an Engineering degree related to Energy & Sustainability.
- 8-12 years of experience testing automotive components (i.e., internal combustion engine, transmissions, electric motors) in a research, calibration, durability, or development environment.
- 2+ years of experience with hydrogen PEM fuel cell systems.
- A valid / clear driver's license is required.
