Position description

The Department of Asian American Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), invites applications for part-time Lecturer positions (Non-Senate) with primary responsibility in teaching interdisciplinary courses in Asian American Studies for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Appointments are usually per course, on a quarter by quarter basis. The UCLA Department of Asian American Studies offers a major, minor, a Pilipino Studies minor, a graduate concentration, and a Master of Arts.

Academic appointment dates are as follows : Winter Quarter (January 1-March 31, 2025), and Spring Quarter (April 1-June 30, 2025).

Actual instruction dates can be different.

Salary commensurate with applicant qualifications and experience; percentage of appointment commensurate with teaching load.

We are interested in any Asian American Studies class that would complement our curriculum, but are especially looking for applicants who can teach courses that satisfy our major / minor requirement of Global and Transnational Perspectives or Comparative and Intersectional Ethnic Studies.

Requirements : Applicants with a Ph.D. are preferred. Applicants who are advanced to Ph.D. candidacy or who have a M.A., M.

F.A., or equivalent may be considered (currently enrolled UC students are not considered).
