JOB DETAILS :
Home Health RN' s travel to patients ' homes to provide care so the patient can stay in their homes rather than move into residential care facilities.
HH RN' s may also provide Hospice Care, which is end of life care for terminal patients at home. Daily tasks include checking wounds for proper healing, administering medications, checking vital signs, and making assessments to prepare reports for the doctor.
HH RN’s might also assist the patient in performing daily tasks, such as bathing. HH RN' s work with patients in their homes.
HH RN’s usually have a facility in which they work to receive their assignment. After receiving their assignment, they drive to patients ' homes to perform the specified nursing care as ordered by the physician.
Education / Requirements :
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) : 4-Year Education
- Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) : 2-Year Education
- You must earn an ADN or BSN degree and pass the NCLEX to apply for a license as a RN.
- RN s can only work with an active state license.
- OASIS certification is sometimes required
