This position will be based in

Los Angeles, or Orange County or San Diego, CA and requires regular travel within your assigned territory. Occasional travel to company sites may be required as needed.

In this pivotal role, you will maximize the sale and distribution of Gallo brands within On-Premise accounts, executing strategic sales and marketing plans to achieve our ambitious goals.

You will be at the forefront of maintaining and expanding relationships with key strategic and emerging accounts, leveraging your deep understanding of distributor deal structures and competitive pricing to identify opportunities and share insights with management.

As a Senior Market Development Manager, you will work closely with distributor personnel to execute monthly programs, close gaps, and deliver points of distribution.

Your expertise will be crucial in influencing high-value accounts and strategically planning your time to maximize sales and grow our brands.

You will make decisive choices, pivoting between motivating, training, and supporting the closing of sales gaps based on business performance and opportunities.

Your role will also involve direct monitoring and ensuring the achievement of performance goals, training and coaching distributor sales representatives, and reviewing market and sales data to identify opportunities.

You will assist in recruiting efforts, motivate distributor management and sales teams, and coordinate with the local Shopper Marketing team to ensure the activation of relevant materials in the market.

Innovation and an entrepreneurial mindset are key, as you will engage accounts and distributor personnel to maximize e-Retail opportunities and support the commercialization of digital marketing programs.

Utilizing technology, you will monitor performance, identify opportunities, and make informed business decisions. As a Gallo Ambassador, you will advocate for our brands, host events, and promote Gallo sales within your community.

What You Will Need :

Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility;

OR Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of CPG sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 7 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

Candidate is required to have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire.

This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire.

  • Required to obtain liquor license as required by state / locality.
  • Required to travel by air and car in order to execute job functions.
  • Required to see, taste, and smell wine and perform wine tastings as part of job functions.
  • Required to be 21 years of age or older.
  • Required to Travel by air and automobile up to 25% during the course of business.
  • Experience demonstrating strong leadership, selling, time management, and public speaking skills.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and / or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation.

This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

What You Will Set You Apart :

Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of Gallo winery or distributor sales experience to include a prior rotation as a Spirits Development Specialist Sr, Market Development Manager, Market Development Manager Sr, or Account Manager 1;

OR Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of external alcohol sales experience to include on-premise experience.

Experience selling or marketing Gallo brands.

Compensation :

  • Hiring salary range posted : $98,000 - $147,000 / year
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
