Responsibilities

Summary

This position has the authority, responsibility and accountability for the leadership and direction of the Real Estate department to include GEO acquisitions, dispositions, lease renewals and property management for the entire organization.

This position will also provide guidance for developing and implementing all short and long-term strategic initiatives.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads the planning, design, development, and implementation of the Real Estate strategic initiatives.
  • Provides direction and leadership of GEO acquisition projects, disposition activities, lease renewal activities and exercise of options and other rights.
  • Directs and leads the GEO Re-entry, Adult Corrections and Youth Services zoning initiatives.
  • Manages the relationships with outside vendors, such as brokers, attorneys, surveyors, appraisers and local economic development organizations.
  • Serves as the liaison with political advocates for GEO Re-entry, Adult Corrections and Youth Services real estate acquisition activities.
  • Directs the property information research activities and Lease / Property management administrative activities for all GEO Adult Corrections, Re-entry and Youth Services properties.
  • Maintains effective communications and coordination between company departments, and consultants to ensure timeliness and accuracy of project design, specifications and submittals.
  • Creates and presents development of major presentations and documents
  • Mentors and provides guidance for Real Estate and key GEO Re-entry and Youth Services development team members.
  • Leads the development and companywide implementation of the Real Property Management software.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Fifteen (15) years of progressive work experience required.
  • Valid Real Estate License preferred.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently on projects, knowledge of how projects are completed, and the ability to ensure that projects stay within necessary budgets and timeframes.
  • Excellent project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with internal and external contacts at all levels.
  • Strong reasoning, analytical, interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to utilize experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Ability to perform a variety of complex tasks.
  • Ability to work on several projects at the same time with ever changing deadlines.
  • Ability to travel with frequent overnight stays.
  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software.
