We’re looking for an outstanding Product / Program Manager who will partner with data science and engineering teams to help build a privacy-first on-device search platform that powers the next generation of search capabilities in iOS and macOS Spotlight, as well as several apps in the Apple ecosystem.

This individual needs a solid track record building and maintaining complex software and machine learning pipelines, platforms, tools, and processes that deliver end-to-end experiences that delight customers.

Description

Build and run project timelines with clear dependencies, critical path, and systematic methodology to communicate status.

Handle risks and mitigations, and re-plan as events warrant. Drive alignment across the organization and between teams.

  • Work across research and engineering teams to develop state-of-the-art machine learning solutions.
  • Coordinate and drive end-to-end projects from opportunity analyses, feature definition, and program execution.
  • Provide clear, timely, and objective communication, including regular program status updates and critical issues as needed to the executive team.
  • Coordinate discussions and break down complex issues into discussion topics to drive engineering and design alignment with support from the project team, maintaining an orientation toward teamwork and collaboration.
  • Create and manage project timelines with clear dependencies, critical path, and systematic methodology to communicate status.

Manage risks and mitigations, and re-plan as events warrant. Drive alignment across the organization and between teams.

  • Drive on-time delivery and deployment, identifying development and feasibility needs, establishing achievements for checkpoints and status updates.
  • Proactively identify issues and solutions, and marshal resources vital to attack and resolve. Coordinate with teams to identify issues, prioritize tasks, and track risks to schedule and product quality, including cross-functional dependencies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in driving large-scale program building machine learning powered products.
  • Excellent program management skills including program structuring and managing multiple work streams interdependently.
  • Have personally orchestrated the delivery of multiple significant client / server software products requiring large organizations (100+).
  • Strong analytical skills and a curiosity to peel the onion to discover opportunities for impact and better user experience.
  • Capability to work across a large number of teams to enforce process and efficient outcomes in a data-driven environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence.
  • BS / MS in EE / CS / CE or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years experience leading cross-functional projects, on-device technologies and / or APIs.
