Job Summary
To provide direct patient care and patient education for fitting, measuring and dispensing of custom fabricated, prefabricated, off-the-shelf orthotic devices and other DME equipment and supplies.
Participates in 24 / 7 on-call coverage.

Accountabilities
Provides fitting, measuring, and dispensing of custom fabricated, prefabricated, and off-the-shelf orthotic devices and soft goods including upper and lower body, spine, and ambulatory aids. - 50%
Provides patient / caregiver education for usage, maintenance, and care of the orthoses. - 20%
Ensures timely collection of physician prescriptions, patient demographics, insurance information, and medical records for billing purposes. - 15%
Assists in scheduling patient appointments for initial fittings and follow-up visits in the Equipped For Life office. - 5%
Assists in stocking and maintenance of appropriate inventories of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and orthoses. - 5%
Acts as liaison between clinical staff and billing staff to ensure proper documentation for insurance to determine medical necessity. - 5%
Supervisory / Management Responsibility
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training
No experience required.
Required Certifications / Registrations / Licenses
NATABOC Athletic Trainer Certification
SC Athletic Trainer License / Certification
CPR Certification
South CarolinaDRIVERS LICENSE
Other Required Skills and Experience
1 or more years of DME / bracing and / or Athletic Training experience - Preferred
Electronic Medical Records experience - Preferred
Master's degree in Athletic Training or related field - Preferred
Requires a high level of physical activity and endurance as well as emotional stability. Constant movement and frequent heavy lifting are required.
Basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, database and data entry
Knowledge of office equipment (fax / copier)
