Job Title : Merchandiser – Retail Garden Centers

Department : Retail Sales Service

Reports to : Sales Manager

FLSA Status : Non-exempt

Revision : 01 / 10 / 2025

For the Thatcher, AZ Location :

Hourly Rate : $15.50 / Hour
Position : Part Time / Seasonal (but there is the possibility of a year-round position)
Hours : Up to 24 per week during the busy season (if offered a permanent position, hours go down during the slow season)
Shift : Mornings during the week and one weekend day (usually Saturday).
Must be able to withstand all forms of weather and physical demands
Must be able to work independently

We are looking for enthusiastic Merchandisers to work in big box retail stores, handling live plants shipped on delivery racks. This role offers the chance to enjoy beautiful spring weather while also embracing the unique challenges of hot, cold, and varied seasonal conditions. We can provide some flexible scheduling options around our scheduling needs, allowing you to balance work with your personal life.

Key Responsibilities :

Stock and display fresh plant material in garden centers.

Unload plants from delivery racks and set up displays.

Maintain a sales-ready appearance for all plants and displays.

Cull and dispose of non-sellable plants.

Perform inventory cycle counts and adjustments.

Assist with resets, building displays, and special events.

Keep work areas clean and safe.

Use tools such as pallet jacks, pruners, ladders, and more.

Adhere to company policies and safety guidelines.

Work and communicate cooperatively with coworkers, vendors and retail associates.

Report to work on time and follow the given schedule.

Qualifications :

Positive attitude and teamwork skills.

Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently.

Comfortable working in various weather conditions.

Reliable transportation to and from assigned stores.

Proficiency with mobile apps for clocking in / out and task completion.

Physical Demands :

Frequent standing, walking, carrying, pushing, and pulling.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.

Frequent kneeling, stooping, bending, and standing for long periods.

Work Environment :

Outdoor work in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).

Exposure to dust, soil, and moving mechanical parts.

Moderate noise levels.
