The Village Wrench Program Director will be responsible for leading the enterprise's bicycle service and repair shop and team while casting its vision.
He / She will also be responsible for overseeing all aspects of relationships with community partners through effective communication, maintaining current partnerships, and developing new ones.
The Director is responsible for providing training, guidance, and coordination of youth programming while developing, directing, and expanding the growth, training, and sustainability of bicycle related program curriculum.
This position is high impact, managerial, community facing, and committed to public service.
Duties
- Ensure all programming (existing and proposed) supports and promotes the values, mission, and vision of organization and enterprise
- Ensure all programming is well executed and well-staffed.
- Ensure all inventory is organized, in working order, and accounted for
- Alongside Community Director coordinate or delegate all marketing and communications as it relates to programs and events (website, social media, flyers, newsletters, special events, etc)
- Oversee and teach apprentices in their workforce development through orientation, weekly work, field trips, and evaluations
- Supervise and facilitate training of staff, volunteers, and youth apprentices
- Schedule staff work shifts and review and submit monthly hours to administration for payroll
- Maintain and continually improve organizational and procedural systems, including employee roles, shop hours, inventory, training, task assignment
- Communicate and collaborate with site lead coordinators to keep inventory and order new supplies as needed
- Create a positive culture through legendary customer service
- Effectively communicate with and support staff, volunteers, and customers
- Alongside Finance Director, maintain a healthy program budget
- Create goals, objectives, and vision for the future of the program
- Position the program to provide maximal impact for the community
- Strategically create calendars for the program
- Maintain current relationships with organizations, nonprofits, businesses, community centers, mentors, and volunteers
- Foster partnerships in the community
- Support leadership team, other directors, and development staff with necessary data, information, and best practices
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities :
- Experience with youth instruction and / or mentoring
- Retail and / or bicycle shop management
- Cycling experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Delegation, organization & attention to detail
- Self motivated, problem solver
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Mastery of the Google Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc) & an overall high level of computer literacy
- Personable & professional in all communications with individuals and organizations
Preferred Education and Experience :
- 3-5 years relevant experience
- Preferred college degree
Reports to : Operations Director
Hours & Compensation : Full Time (40 hours / week) with 80% employer-paid health insurance reimbursement and 18 days of PTO (in addition to time off for major holidays and a full week for the Christmas & New Year holiday), 401K plan contribution options, and tech reimbursement
Salary starts at $47,000 / year
