Duties and Responsibilities :
- Review of customer order and technical specifications.
- Evaluate hydraulic sizing calculations to select the optimal impeller design and configuration.
- Review shaft reaction loads to ensure proper bearing selection.
- Review selection of equipment (motors, heat exchangers, seal system orifices).
- Work with suppliers to develop engineered components.
- Creation of bills of material.
- Design / drafting manufactured components.
- Review, develop and approve engineering drawings and documentation, pump datasheet, cross-sectional drawings, exploded assembly views, process seal drawings, ITP, P&ID, Cause and Effect matrices.
- Disposition non-conforming parts and supplier deviation requests.
- Provide engineering support, troubleshooting, assembly and testing activities for pump product acceptance.
- Recognize opportunities for improvement and act to drive engineering excellence.
- Stay abreast of new technology.
- Assist Applications Engineering and Sales with technical queries.
- 3D modeling for manufacturing support, understanding of machining prints.
- Provide consultation to Field Service for start-up / commissioning and troubleshooting.
- Clearly defining customer requirements for purchased and manufactured parts in ERP system.
- Defining specific customer test requirement in shop routing.
- Aftermarket engineering support for spares quoting and manufacturing.
Skills & Abilities :
- Desire to develop understanding of pump engineering fundamentals, hydrodynamics, mechanical seals, testing, troubleshooting, material science, and auxiliary support and machine protection systems.
- Excellent engineering judgment and decision-making skills.
- Will have a strong general understanding of engineering sciences and be comfortable engaging in technical communication.
Preferred :
- CAD experience, NX desirable.
- Experience with design of rotating equipment, preferably compressors or pumps.
- Will have strong communication skills and confidence in representing Sundyne in communications with customers.
- Will have experience or understanding of component manufacturing.
Qualifications :
- B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3-5 years of experience.
- Prior experience with pressure containing components and instruments.
- Intermediate level position, keen desire to gain engineering experience with manufacturing, EPC’s, and oil and gas industry.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards; API-610, ASME Pressure Vessel Code, ASTM.

Compensation Details
Annual Salary : $90,000.00 - $110,000.00
