Schedule Information
- Units : Telemetry (Definitive Obs)
- Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend
Unit Specific Information
- Ratios : 1 : 4
- EMR : Cerner
- Tele : Yes, must be able to read and interpret EKG strips
- Vents : No
- Hospitalist or Intensivist in house : Yes
- IV Team : No
- RT 24 / 7 : Yes
- Pharmacy 24 / 7 : Yes
- Shifts : 12 hr shifts start at 0645. Report is at the bedside. OT and extra shifts available. Self-scheduling is used, but not finalized until Manager balances it.
Schedules are out 4 weeks. Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves available for extra shifts and make trades with other staff.
Block scheduling is generally not available
- Floating : All other Sacramento facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen
- Floor-specific orientation : 1 - 2 days on the floor with preceptor
- Common diagnosis / Types of patients : ICU stepdown. This is a lower acuity stepdown unit
- 12 hr Nights, Every Other Weekend, First to Float
Additional Details
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; offer off clinical prescreens
- Manager has 24 hours to rescind the offer, if necessary
- Need 2 sup refs (charge accepted) at submittal; 1 within 12 mo. & 1 within 3 years worked
- Modules must be done before start, they average 3-4 hrs to complete-this time is not billable
- For Holiday RTO : Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years). Unit managers will make the final call on scheduling, but we would include this verbiage on the confirmation.
Holiday time off will be considered, however not guaranteed
PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE, THE DYSRHYTHMIA EXAM (BASIC) THROUGH RELIAS IS REQUIRED TO BE SENT ALONG WITH ACCEPTANCE. THIS MUST BE COMPLETED WITHIN 24-48 HRS.
IT'S PASS OR FAIL AND THEY GET TWO ATTEMPTS.
